Description: This is a parcel of beautiful bright patterned obsidian backed Australian opal doublets. Made from Natural Coober Pedy opal Handmade in our workshop. Colours are evident in low light conditions. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a top quality opal doublet for a very reasonable price. Suitable for ring, pendant or bracelet. Please note that they are not solid and if you do not understand the term "Doublet", Please read the description below before making your purchase. MulticolourBright PatternObsidian BackedNatural Australian Opal Total Weight 5.65 ct Opal DoubletA stone made of two parts. 1) The base can be made of various materials, however we try to use materials that are temperature stable and compatible with opal eg, glass, obsidian, ironstone(boulder) or potch(opal without colour). We, use ironstone(boulder) because of it’s natural beauty. It looks great when used with open backed jewellery. 2) The top, being opal, is either painted of dyed black then laminated to the base with an epoxy resin. The darkening of the opal helps to highlight colour and pattern. When the epoxy resin is dry the stone is cut and polished into a doublet. Please note that our photos are taken under artificial and natural light as any opal needs light to show its true colour and pattern. We have noticed any smart devices like smart phone or tablet pc enhance colours and patterns more than a laptop or pc. As we work on pc, please consider checking the item you are interested in, on non smart devices. Although we do our best to maintain original colours in the opal, screen variations may affect the appearance. We do combine postage for multiple items. This applies to purchases made at the same time on the same day unless we are told to wait. We will refund the postage fee after the full payment is made. RETURNS If you are not entirely happy with your purchase, we provide a money back guarantee, provided the article is returned in original condition in protective packaging. Goods to be returned need to be shipped within 30 days of receiving your purchase. The postage paid to deliver the item to you will not be refunded and the cost of returning the goods to Diverse Opals will be paid by yourself.
