Description: Photo - Lavagetto Breaking up Bevins’s No Hitter 1947 This is a very interesting photo. It may be a wire service photo, although I’m not sure because there is no documentation. It depicts Brooklyn Dodger Cookie Lavagetto driving home the winning run against Yankee pitcher Bill Bevens. This was on October 3, 1947, during game 4 of the Word Series at Ebbets Field. Lavagetto came in as a pinch hitter and drove home the winning run with a double when Bevens was one out away from throwing what would have been the first no-hitter in World Series history. It measures 14” x 11” and is sepia colored. US only. Buyer pays $5.95 for ground advantage shipping.
