So in case it was not clear from everything above and everything below, please be aware that this service is performed using save file back-ups of the Toys R’ Us Mew distribution cartridges. Due to how long ago these events were, it is borderline an impossibility for any actual Toys R’ Us Mew distribution cartridges to still hold their original saves, as their batteries have almost guaranteed died out by now. This listing is for a distribution service which involves you mailing your copy of Pokemon Red, Pokemon Blue, Pokemon Yellow, Pokemon Gold, Pokemon Silver, and/or Pokemon Crystal to me, where I will then use an authentic Toys R’ Us Mew distribution save file to trade over a Toys R’ Us Mew to your game save. On November 26th, 1999, a major Pokemon distribution event began in the US, where the first 1,500 people who walked into specific Toys R’ Us locations as well as those who entered a mail-in giveaway were given a special sticker card featuring Mew, with the allure that if you peeled the Mew sticker and it said “Caught me!” on it, you were to be given your own legitimate Generation 1 Mew! At the time, it goes without saying that obtaining this Mythical pokemon was every player’s dream, so naturally this event was a very big thing at the time, especially since this was the first distribution for Mew that was on a much more publicly accessible scale. These Mews were distributed using a variety of Pokemon Red and Blue cartridges injected with unique Toys R’ Us Mew save files, that were made solely to distribute the Mythical. The lucky winners of the Mythical were able to come into specific Toys R’ Us locations at a later date and finally receive the highly-sought Pokemon Mew! However, only 200 from each wave of 1,500 sticker cards were actually winners, resulting in a very large amount of people going without a legitimate Mew, and once the event had passed, the distribution cartridges were to be sent back to Nintendo, where they were to never be seen or heard from again, marking the end of what many considered the best possible chance to receive a Mew in Generation 1. Using these save files, I can distribute the once lost incredibly rare Mew to your Generation 1 and 2 Pokemon games. While this event was intended originally for Red, Blue and Yellow, I can also use these saves to very easily trade a Mew over to Gold, Silver and Crystal using the Time Capsule. There was only ever 2 Mew distributions done for Generation 2, both on very small scales (though one of them was the Pokemon Center New York Shiny Mew, which I may make a service for in the future along with many other PCNY event Pokemon) but even so, this service makes receiving a Mew on those games no problem whatsoever. This distribution service is meant to allow those who wish to authentically gain access to the Toys R’ Us Mew the opportunity to do so many years after its inception. This Pokemon makes a great gift for those looking to relive the Generation 1 and/or 2 games with a rare Pokemon, those looking to authentically complete their Pokedex, event Pokemon collectors, among many other things. This service is meant for the original Gameboy and Gameboy Color cartridges of Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver and Crystal, but I can also distribute this Mew to the 3DS Virtual Console releases of each, which would require you to mail out your 3DS system. The Toys R’ Us Mews distributed in this service are from original and authentic Pokemon Red and Blue Toys R Us Mew distribution save files, and are completely authentic and legitimate. With that said, due to Pokemon from Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver and Crystal not being able to transfer to Generation 3 and above, these Mew are not considered legitimate on Pokemon Bank and Home since you were never supposed to be able to even get these Mews anywhere but the original cartridges, so despite their legitimacy, the Toys R’ Us Mew cannot be transferred to Pokemon Bank and Pokemon Home. Detailed Information:The distribution process for the Toys R’ Us Mew is an incredibly simple one, so describing this won’t actually be too long; especially in comparison to my other distribution services. Due to the nature of this distribution service being done entirely through trading, all you will need in this service is one (or more if you want multiple Toys R’ Us Mews) Pokemon ready for trade fodder, which I will then use to trade over the Toys R’ Us Mew. If sending in a copy of Gold, Silver or Crystal, make sure the Pokemon you have ready for trade fodder are Gen 1 Pokemon since Gen 2 Pokemon don’t go through the time capsule trade normally. The Toys R’ Us Mew save file is full of many different Mews available for trade. With that said, each Mew is completely identical stat wise. The only difference between each of them is their trainer names and trainer IDs. In regards to trainer names, they can be any of the following: YOSHIRA, YOSHIRB, YOSHIBA, and YOSHIBB. As to what these names mean, my best guess is that four primary Mew sets were made. For example, “YOSHIRA” means “Yoshi, Pokemon Red, Set A” and “YOSHIBB” would mean “Yoshi, Pokemon Blue, Set B.” The first two parts I know are correct since the only information I actually found was there being both Red and Blue cartridges used for these trades, with the Red games only having YOSHIRA and YOSHIRB, with the Blue games having only YOSHIBA and YOSHIBB, but I unfortunately cannot figure out the biggest question of all - just how is Yoshi involved in this? Jokes aside, the YOSHIRA Mew is by far the most well known Mew from this set due to it being one of the few that had its save data successfully restored in recent years, thus making it the main one I promote in the photos, as well as the one I will distribute to you if you don’t have a specific preference on which you want, or alternatively don’t let me know which you want. In regards to the trainer IDs, they can have any number between 00000 and 65535. Each save held different sets leading up to the max, and despite what you may think, it’s estimated there were around 140,000 Mew distributed, and considering 65535 x 2 because two versions is 131,070, the possibility that they genuinely went through every possible ID is there. Due to this, it is possible to receive a legitimate Mew with essentially any trainer name and trainer ID combination. In the event that you had a Toys R’ Us Mew and had lost it due to any number of reasons (likely the save battery dying) and happened to remember your combination of trainer information, this may be a great opportunity to get your exact Mew back! Also as stated, since these Mews were never intended to be on anything but the Gameboy and Gameboy Color cartridges, they cannot be transferred onto Pokemon Bank or Home despite their legitimacy. If choosing to have this service be performed on the Virtual Console releases, please be aware that they cannot be transferred. This service is NOT compatible with Pokemon Green, or any Japanese versions of the first and second Generations of Pokemon. Trading over a Mew, or any English Pokemon to a Japanese game for that matter, will corrupt both saves, resulting in you and the copy you traded with needing to restart from the beginning. Naturally some of them require a bit of a different process, such as if you want the Oak’s Letter distribution service performed on a Japanese copy of Platinum, I would instead distribute the authentic Japanese Wonder Card instead of the English one since it wouldn’t work properly, but the end result would still be the same ans result in you receiving an authentic Oak’s Letter. “Do I have to send in my system along with the game?”In regards to cartridges being played on GameBoy, GameBoy Color, GameBoy Advance, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo 3DS, no - those cartridges’ save files are stored within the cartridges themselves, rather than something like the Nintendo Switch save files, which are stored on the system itself regardless of if playing a game physically or digitally. For non-cartridge/digital games however, most of which in this case refer to the 3DS, then yes, you would need to send in your entire system. “Is there any way we can communicate outside of eBay messaging?”Yes - you are free to send me a friend request and message me on Discord via my ID of Mvw#0426 - this is very likely the best way to message me, as I’m very active on there (though before friending me, please send a message on eBay letting me know of you sending a friend request so I know who sent it and whether or not to accept said friend request or not.). For the record, I do want to say that the account used is still my personal Discord - I don’t have a separate business account or anything, so do with that as you will. “Can you transfer this Pokemon up to a different generation and trade/transfer it from there?”All events shown are technically compatible with all future generations unless they’re a Ticket/Item distribution service like the Eon Ticket or are specifically mentioned to not transfer up (to Bank and Home), so if you want a Generation 3 WishMaker Jirachi in Pokemon Black 2 for example, let me know and we can discuss this. I’m aware that many will want me to transfer these up into Bank and Home for trading purposes, and yes, I can go ahead and do that too if you so wish. With that said, please be aware it may take a bit of time to transfer everything upwards. “Do you plan to offer services for other Pokemon games (XY, SM, USUM, LGPE, SWSH, BDSP, PLA, SV, Home, etc)?”I definitely have plans for services for other Pokemon titles in the future, though I don’t have much more concrete information to give at present time. As mentioned in the previous question’s response, eBay expects me to purchase and prepare a shipping label after a certain period of time, so I have the maximum shipping time set to give as much time as possible for the customer to get their package ready and the like. Sending your game to someone you don’t know can be very intimidating and concerning, so I hope the reasons I give share can be understood and go beyond “that’s morally wrong!” To start, please keep in mind that in order for me to actually receive your game, I have to send you my address, so if I ever were to not send your game back, you now have my address, proof of a valid purchase, a listing linked to said purchase, and an account you can report to eBay. I also can give out my full name when giving my address if anyone needs it for their package, so you would have even more information on me as an individual you could report if need be. I hope that these reasons give you a good idea of why such wouldn't be feasible on my end, and ultimately an incredibly poor idea.
