REX ALLEN - INSCRIBED LOBBY CARD SIGNED - HFSID 322497 REX ALLEN The actor signs a lobby card promoting his film, Rodeo King and the Senorita Inscribed Lobby Card signed: "To/Claude-/Rex Allen", in black felt tip, colorized, 14x11. Singing cowboy Rex Allen (1920-1999) appeared on stage, rodeo and radio (National Barn Dance) before beginning his film career with Republic Pictures as a possible replacement for singing cowboy star Roy Rogers. In a span of five years (1949-1954), Allen made more than 20 Westerns, many featuring his horse, Ko Ko, and sidekick Slim Pickens. The star of his own TV series, Frontier Doctor (1958), Allen was also the narrator of many Disney films, including The Legend of Lobo (1962), The Incredible Journey (1963), Charlie, The Lonesome Cougar (1967) and Charlotte's Web (1973). His son, Rex Allen, Jr., became a popular country music star. Corners worn and creased. Toned. Large 4-inch tear on bottom margin. Surface creases. Tape on verso. Pencil marking on left margin.
