Description: Royal Copenhagen Fajance Ellen Malmer Baca Vase 668 3685 5.5" Textured Glaze MCM Description Offering a stunning vintage 1970s midcentury modern Royal Copenhagen Fajance squarish (with rounded corners) vase designed and signed by Danish Aluminia artist Ellen Malmer and numbered 668-3685. Part of the Baca Series conceived by Nils Thorsson. Piece is first quality. Glazed shiny white outside and shiny black inside, the vase is decorated with a hand applied metallic bubbly textured glaze in brown and gold. The swooping curved design adds a feeling of movement to the piece. The Baca technique was based on a silkscreen printing where one added Vanidin and/or different metallic salts to the colors. This caused the colors to slightly bubble and thereby creates a relief effect. During the firing the colors change and the variations seen on this vase are characteristic of the Baca series.
