He is a novelist, a political correspondent for newspapers in Israel, and a contributor to Commentary. Born in Hungary in 1928, Wiesel now lives in New York. His article is drawn from a book that Holt, Rinehart and Winston will publish later this month .... JOHN BOWERS, while interviewing Mary Tyler Moore, used a tecnique he picked up from Truman Capote. The method consists of revealing facts about oneself which correspond to those one wants to elicit from the other person. For example, Bowers confided to the actress that he began his writing career to impress a girl. Miss Moore replied that she acted only to please herself. While becoming a writer, Bowers has worked as a taxi driver, a shill in a Las Vegas casino, and a personnel officer for the State Department. / Freddy Wittop, who designed all 160 costumes for Holly Golightly, finished Miss Moore's dress minutes before photographer PHILIPPE HALSMAN took the cover shot.
