I could tell you loads about the history of this most favored of U.S. coins, but you can look it up, because that's not the best part.The OTHER piece of history is that this is actually a first-generation precursor to the modern certified holders. Although this is not one of the favored contemporary companies (e.g., PCGS, ANACS, NGC), it was one of many original companies that sold investment-grade coins to the public. Many of these operated as a bit of a scam actually. The coin is authentic and I think their judgement of grade (split with a slash, one value for the obverse, one for the reverse), is accurate. All I'm allowed to say here is that it is "brilliant uncirculated," which it is.The scam was that the overcharged, they way overvalued the coins back then. But that was 1986, now that four decades have passed, these have, in many cases, actually surpassed the original asking price from back then.Morgan Dollar details below, but for me it's about the photographic Certificate of Authenticity.
