Description: These beautiful 9-1/4" diameter turquoise, tin glazed Majolica dinner plates are colorfully covered with two birds, four grape clusters and 6 leaves; including raised branches and vining. You'll see a decorative raised scroll that surrounds the top edge of each plate. The raised relief is very well depicted and defined. Please review the condition, as each plate is slightly different. Very charming for any dinner table or cabinet. Maker Mark / Hallmark / Backstamp: Each plates' markings vary slightly (see photos for close-up detailing).Although the clarity varies on the maker's mark, two plates have the printed coffee cup with GS ZELL on the interior of the cup and the word GERMANY printed below. You'll find an impressed number "230" and next to that an impressed letter "Z" on each plateTwo plates have a grayish black letter R printed on the back.One plate has a indistinguishable letter printed on the back in a grayish black color.
