Unlike many songs later associated with the Summer Of Love, the Small Faces? most famous song was recorded during July 1967 at the legendary Olympic Studios in London and released on Andrew Loog Oldham?s independent Immediate record label a month later. Produced by Steve Marriott and Ronnie Lane, the song was engineered by Glyn Johns with George Chkiantz and featured the latter?s revolutionary phasing effect which was heard for the first time anywhere on the single. A top 3 hit in the UK and released worldwide, it was also the Small Faces? only top 20 hit in the USA. Supervised by surviving Small Faces member Kenney Jones, the limited-edition picture disc features the remastered original mono mix plus the 1967 stereo remix by Eddie Kramer with a longer end-fade and additional vocals by Steve.
