Description: For sale is your choice high school level Spanish grammar books. I am a retired high school Spanish teacher, and it is now the time to start disposing of my decades-long collection of Spanish language resources. These are lightly used or brand new samples that I continued to refer back to for reference or additional explanations, for my own classroom, and for the tutoring I did, as well. Two are published by AMSCO publishing, made for schools. I've copied the Contents, which describe the grammar presented, and in which order, plus a few pages for you to see the layout of each. Most of the books have activities for practice, but they are not to be written in the books themselves. Look at the level of complexity of grammar on the pages I've copied to determine if the level would meet your needs. Here are the grammar books available here: Segundo Libro, Review Text in Spanish Two Years (Second Edition), by Robert J. Nassi and Bernard Bernstein, published by AMSCO School Publications, Inc., 1969. Paperback. One of my favorite student reference and activities book. The grammar is clearly laid out, and there is a generous amount of practice activities. There is also some reading practice and composition prompts. Nice!! 392 pages Spanish Two Years, Review Text in Spanish Two Years (First Edition), by Robert J. Nassi, published by AMSCO School Publications, Inc., 1958. Paperback. Also a nice student reference book. This one has yellowing pages (different paper. See photos), and it has a few small stains on a few pages, but it is, nevertheless, a nice reference book. This book has answers to activities in the back for self-correction. 371 pages Basic Elements of Spanish, by Joseph W. Barlow, published by Appleton-Century-Crofts, Inc., 1955. Hardcover, in nice condition. This is also a very nice grammar reference book, but it is more of a textbook, with lots of examples and activities for practice. The book has notes and underlining in pencil, but is still very usable for grammar understanding and practice. There is a vocabulary in the back to help with the reading sections. 238 pages. Oral Drill in Spanish, by Patricia O'Connor and Ernest F. Haden, published by Houghton Miflin Company, 1957. This is a softcover, spiral-bound book, still in nice condition. This book shows where the stress falls in the sentences presented. I like the way they show how the stress changes as the sentence is modified. The book has some good examples of conversations, and groups of sentences to give good repetition for practice. 191 pages. BARRON'S Mastering Spanish, Developed by the Foreign Service Institute, Department of State, (the same course used by the U.S. Government to train diplomatic personnel), by Robert P. Stockwell, J. Donald Bowen, and Ismael Silva-Fuenzalida, published by Barron's Educational Series, Inc., 1985, ISBN # 0-8120-2229-7. The series was accompanied by audio tapes, and the spoken word was translated with phonetic symbols and English meaning. Even if you ignore the phonetics, the book contains pages and pages of very necessary things to say in English, translated to Spanish in complete sentences, so you don't need to learn all the steps of constructing a sentence, it's just done for you to use. Vocabulary in the back. A big book, 678 pages. I hope that one or more of these books would be a great resource in your Spanish-learning journey! These are great books for reference and extra materials for current Spanish teachers, or home school students. (I will be listing the rest of my "collection," not only from my teaching resources, but also from my University studies... grammar and reference books, readers at levels from high school beginners to intermediate, and books and novels (with modified language and vocabulary references.) Also check out my Spanish cassette tapes listed. If you are buying more than one book from this listing, a lighter book (on a Variation listing, I need to enter the weight from the heaviest item), or books and materials from my other Spanish "collection", go ahead and buy them, but DON'T PAY right away. Email me to ask for a combined shipping total, and I'll find the best shipping for you and send an invoice with the total. Then pay. Thanks for looking here! ¡Buena suerte con tus estudios en español!
