Description: SR-71 Print Signed by SR-71 Pilot and Beale AFB Commander Richard Graham A Vietnam combat veteran with 210 missions, Colonel Richard Graham is also a veteran of 15 years of assignments within the SR-71 community. He began flying the Blackbird in 1978 and would eventually rise to be an instructor pilot and commander of the 9th Strategic Reconnaissance Wing which housed not only the Blackbirds but also U-2’s and KC-135 tankers. He logged flights in all three types of aircraft. The SR-71 was one of the most remarkable jet aircraft in the world. As a reconnaissance platform, the Blackbird was unmatched and untouchable. Capable of Mach 3 plus speeds at altitudes of 80,000 feet, no enemy air defense could touch this airplane. Though it flew for over a decade above some of the most hostile airspace in the world, no Blackbird was ever lost to enemy fire. Only 32 of these titanium beauties were ever built and 12 were lost due to accidents. Over 100 missiles were fired at the SR-71, but the evasive tactic was simply to fly faster until the missile exhausted its fuel. None were ever downed by enemy fire. Designed by world famous Kelly Johnson and his team of engineers with hand printed blueprints, slide rules and engineering innovation. The SR-71 remains the apex (and the fastest) of jet technology to this day. Item for sale is a 15-inch by 11-inch SR-71 print featuring drawings by John D Shaw. It shows an image of the SR-71, the SR-71 patch, and the pressure suit needed by the Pilots and RSO’s to survive in the high altitude. The print is signed by Rich Graham who added SR-71 Pilot. He is only one of 86 operational pilots who flew the SR-71. The autograph of John Shaw is a print. Due to the size of the print I had to do two scans to show the entire image. The yellowing you see on the edges is due to MY SCANNER, it is not part of the print. The print is in MINT condition and will be shipped in a stiff cardboard tube for safe handling.
