Description: "The Chapman's Library: The Scottish Chap Literature of Last Century Classified - Religious and Scriptural" consists of 20 chapbooks of a religious nature bound into one 4.5"x7" hardcover volume. It was published in Glasgow in 1877 by Robert Lindsay, and credited to John Cheap. Each chapbook is 24 pages long. Subjects include The Life of John Knox, The Life of John Welch, The Battles of Drumelog and Bothwell Bridge, Prayers for Families and Private Persons, The History of Moses, etc. There are black and white illustrations throughout. The book is in good condition, with no dust jacket (as issued). The half-morocco binding is torn at the spine bottom (see first photo), less severely at the spine top, has heavy wear along the spine, edge wear. The hinges are starting to crack. The interior is age-toned but unmarked, except for a single word in pencil on the ffep. The binding is a bit loose.
