Description: Send me your worn or broken N97xE stylus and, optionally, your M97xE cartridge, and I will remove your worn bonded .2 x .7 bonded elliptical diamond and install a brand new beautiful low mass high polish rectangular shank nude grain-oriented, gem grade true ellipsoid Ogura Vital PE 8/18µm elliptical diamond. If your cantilever is snapped, no worries! For the same price, I will include a lightweight, thin-wall, narrow gauge, hollow, tapered, hardened aluminum-magnesium alloy cantilever that is as good as or better than the original. The benefits of a nude diamond include lower tip mass for better tracking, better heat dissipation and this particular nude diamond is true ellipsoid which means that it is closer to a fine line than a classic ground conical elliptical diamond. The nude diamond mildly wakes up the high end of the somewhat laid back (some say subdued) performance of the M97xE, so keep your ears open to enjoy an upgrade in performance over the original. You will enjoy cleaner highs, better tracking and much higher detail resolution. Most cartridges that come with this diamond installed as new sell for at least $350 MSRP (Denon DL-110, Dynavector 10X5). The Ortofon 2M Blue uses this same diamond and the stylus alone sells for almost $200. This is quite an upgrade for your M97xE at a modest price that is cheaper than a new N97xE bonded diamond stylus. A recent check of prices for the now discontinued Shure M97xE and its associated stylus the N97xE reveals extreme price inflation due to product scarcity as, sadly, Shure Bros. abandoned the phono cartridge and stylus market that it once dominated. Remaining stock prices are going through the roof, with the once $40 replacement stylus now sold out. Prices for NOS on eBay and elsewhere for this stylus approach $300–and that’s with the bonded diamond. Even used ones are selling over $100. Why purchase this retip and not a similarly priced or lower priced aftermarket stylus? Because it’s all about saving the suspension! Replacement aftermarket styli are decent and get good reviews, but there are no, to my knowledge, nude diamond styli being offered among them for the superior tracking and clean high end many audiophiles demand, and no aftermarket stylus will keep your original look and, more importantly, original Dynamic Stabilizer Brush, not to mention the all-important original Shure engineered suspension. No matter what aftermarket stylus you purchase to keep your Shure M97xE going, only an original Shure suspension will keep it sounding and performing exactly as it should. NOTE: This is not a listing for a complete cartridge or stylus. This listing is specifically for a nude diamond and optional cantilever, with installation included in the price. $150 and you are upgraded and good to go! Simply use Buy It Now and I will contact you with my mailing address telling you where to send your stylus and cartridge if you like. Turnaround time is usually under three weeks. Thanks for looking!
