Description: Item Description This Vante Biopharm 3960 Sterile Tube Welder is in excellent cosmetic and working condition. This welder is used to make a sterile connection between two sections of TPE tubing, even if they contain fluids. This is done using a one-time use disposable blade that is heated to around 270C to sever, sterilize, and join the two sections. These blades are available from Vante.The last series of pictures show the unit joining two sections of 3/8" ID, 1/2" OD PVC-based tubing, from blade insertion to the finished product. The resulting welded join needs to be pinched to open it internally and the two cut-off pieces are left welded shut.This machine is supposed to have two aluminum hinged 'grippers' that hold the tubing down/aligned for the welding process, so that it can be completed with the lid closed, for safety. We have triggered the magnetic interlock with a small magnet (blue thing) so that the process can be photographed with the cover open.
