Description: Vintage 1940s femme fatale dress. Classic black rayon crepe dress, with gathered bust, wide basque waist and dramatic tie-back, to create an hourglass silhouette, centre pleats that continue from centre of waist into an a-line skirt, shoulder pads, small V neck, long sleeves, with press studs at wrists. Closes with back centre zipper. Basically every design element of high drama, high glamour, 1940s! No labels, but appears professionally made, almost Dorothy O'Hara-esque. Bust: 36"Waist: 28" (ties smaller with waist ties) Hip: up to 40" Shoulder: 15" Sleeve: 23" Length: 47" (top of back neck to hem) In good vintage condition, wearable, with some notable flaws -- some light iron shine in parts, and some discolouration, particularly in folds of skirt, which is only just discernible in certain lights, not really when worn.
