The camera will power on and can be used with the AC adapter. The removable battery does not charge. It likely sat dead for too long and can no longer recharge, which the owners manual warns about. You can find replacement batteries online, this kit does include the battery charger attachment for the AC adapter This camera has literally dozens of features and functions. The only function I have found to not be working are the automatic zoom buttons, but the zoom can still be adjusted manually. Additionally, there is some static when looking through the viewfinder, which indicates it could probably use a new capacitor(s). The static alternates from light to heavy as you cycle through the high speed shutter button. So it’s lightest when you have high speed shutter off. I tried my best to get a good picture through the viewfinder (see photos), my phone had a hard time focusing. I was unable to test on tape because I don’t have any vhs cassettes, but the mechanisms appear to all be working, and the cassette door is in good working order.
