Description: For sale is a vintage Chinese soapstone carving of a urn / vase decorated with flowers, on an ornately carved soapstone pedestal, in perfect condition - no chips, cracks or repairs. Very nice quality with stunning intricate details. This hand-made delicately finished soapstone carving is about 4.75" tall, 2.5" wide and 1.5" deep (including the pedestal). The naturally dual-color darker stone patterns enhance the uniqueness of this artwork. I bought this souvenir artwork from a local artist during one of my visits to China in the early 1980's when China was just opening up to the world. It wasn't a mass produced item and it's unlikely you'll ever find another item like this. This piece of artwork had been displayed after I returned home for a brief period.
