Description: VINTAGE Lot of 5 Miniature Figurines 1950s Japan - Porcelain, Celluloid, Wood This is an AMAZING VINTAGE lot of 1950s figurines made in Japan. The figurines are an eclectic mix of different animals and materials. There are 2 white porcelain figurines with blue polka dots; an elephant and a dog. They are both about 1.5 inches long. Aside from being a little dirty, the only condition issue is a tiny chip on the dog's tail. There are 2 wooden black cats with their body parts connected with a tight elastic so they can move realistically. Both cats have condition issues with their faces and ears (see last photo) and 1 is missing the faux fur collar. The last figurine is of 2 birds. The birds are made of small cowrie shells that have been hand painted and have wood hand painted tails attached. They have wire legs and are attached to a wood slice base. One of the birds has lost its head and is loose on his legs, but the other one is in great condition. All pieces (except the cats) are marked "Japan" on the bottom.
