Description: This is a nice example of an original embroidered oversized "Ranger" tab, worn by cadre at the US Army Ranger School on the back of black sweatshirts or hoodies. Difficult to ascertain the time period or even the manufacturer's origins, as it almost looks like it was made overseas. Nice embroidered design in yellow-gold thread on black fabric, with a finished border and cheesecloth backing. Overall size is nine and a half inches (245mm) in width, and two and a half inches (65mm) in height. Although it was glued to a display at one point, and has paper residue on the back side, I do not believe it was ever sewn to a uniform or worn. Regardless, this is a pretty interesting example of an uncommon Ranger insignia and would make a fine addition to any collection.
