Description: Vintage Photograph of young man standing outside Lowe's State and Strand Theatre, White Plains, NY on August 13, 1927. Parking sign above him with theatre name. It appears parking your car in 1927 was as much of an issue as today! Location and date written on back but not his name - but we figured it out from other items we possess. His name was Augustin Walsh born around 1900 and married Athlone Warnock (last name spelling unsure) and moved to Long Island, NY where they had a few children. Augustin was selling rugs in 1930 but died sometime either 1940 or '42. His wife was a former child star singer who toured the U.S. with her parents playing numerous theaters and venues. Athlone tried to make it in Hollywood but it doesn't appear she made it and opted for a happier life at home with children. But they likely loved the theatre so the photo is appropriate. Photographer unknown. Measures approx. 4 x 2.5". Condition is good. Watermark for listing purposes only. A great White Plains collectible it is hard finding any items related to this theatre which was demolished in 1970. This also ships fast and FREE!
