Description: Vintage Queen's Rosina China Footed Cup "Mother" Pink Roses. Great condition with no chips or cracks. A little of the gold trim has worn off in some places. Marked on bottom with Queen's Rosina mark. Design with "Mother" written inside in gold and pink roses with green leaves. Light grey scroll design at top. Gold trim around top, around bottom, and on handle. Decoration inside and outside cup. Footed, fluted, swirled ridges, ornate handle. 3" tall, 2.75" diameter top opening, and 2.25" diameter base. Queen's Rosina China is a brand of bone china produced by the Rosina China Company Ltd. at the Queen's Pottery in Longton, England. The company's origins can be traced back to 1880 when George Warrilow and James Cope founded Warrilow & Cope. After the partnership ended, Warrilow moved into the Queen's Pottery and formed Warrilow & Sons with his three sons. The company used the trade name Rosina. In 1940, Warrilow & Sons closed and in 1941, The Rosina China Company Ltd. was formed to continue production at the Queen's Pottery. Brothers Oswald and Derek Shufflebottom acquired the company Warrilow & Sons and renamed it The Rosina China Company Ltd. In September of 1987, the company merged with Elizabethan Fine Bone China Company and from June of 1988 they operated under the temporary name of Crownford Holdings Ltd. Both of the companies were already owned by the Shufflebottom brothers. In January 1989, the merged companies became Crownford China Company Ltd. Queen's Rosina pieces featured intricate floral patterns and delicate handles in their designs.
