The Young People's Society of Christian Endeavor was founded at the Williston Church in Portland Maine in 1881, and grew to national and international prominence as an organization for young Christians. The society peaked in membership at the turn of the Twentieth Century, and continues today. Here is their hymnal, assembled by, among others the splendid hand of Homer A. Rodeheaver, an assembler of hymnals for many groups. A well manufactured paper-clad hymnal. The wraps are tan, there is wear at all extremities including a chip at the bottom front leading. No whitening, No mustiness, No looseness, No smoke smell. A name, top edge of the front wrap, No other markings, No bookplates, NOT Ex-Library, NOT Remainder-marked.
