Description: This stunning piece is from the renowned New Mexico modernist painter, Robert Hooton (1917-2006). Early on in his career Hooton worked as a circus sign painter as well as for the WPA. The work is mostly collage with some applied paint. Signed in the lower left, in pencil, with Hooton's distinctive signature. Dated 93. Dedicated to Bob & Willa. It's a beautiful abstract. Bright coloring yet. No apparent damage whatsoever. A little scuffing to the custom wood frame. The collage is about 14 1/2 by 16 1/2 inches. With the frame it's approximately 16 1/2 by 20 1/2.
