Description: A nice example of a World War One Australian Cap Badge for The Digger's Slouch Hat During the Great War some 295,000 Australians fought on The Western Front as part of The Australian Imperial Forces (AIF) with 46,000 falling in battle. Even heavier were the losses in the Gallipoli Landings in The Dardanelles in 1915 as, when uniting with with New Zealand as The Anzacs, over 500,000 Aussie, Kiwi & British causalities resulted. Measuring approx 2.5" across & with twin lugs to the rear, this is a very attractive & impressive AIF brass cap badge with a crisp burnished front, despite obvious regular polishing and much evidence of Brasso residue to front & back. Thanks for looking..!
