Contact Us!71 5557 1 68 8 Description:1 antique World War II Japanese Samurai Army Officer's gendai sword available. This WW2 Officer's katana was made by Emura. Swords by Emura are highly sought-after by collectors. This sword would make an important addition to any collection. The nakago/tang is signed 'Emura saku' (Emura made this). Interestingly, the collector who owned this sword catalogued it by painting the lower portion of the nakago so that he could label the sword, and mark it with his catalog number. Of course, this is unusual--but the paint can be removed with lacquer thinner if desired. All military fittings are of the highest quality. The blade measures 26 1/4" (66.7 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine. This traditionally-made gendai sword is water-tempered. Nie crystals are visible in the tempered edge. Condition:The mounts are in beautiful condition. The blade is in nice polish with just occasional minor carbon stains, a few scratches, and a few small nicks. The hamon and boshi are perfectly healthy. A Japanese Army Officer's Gendai sword by Emura would make an important addition to any collection.
